Foothold stand

1. Sliding down

Same as stepladder, we may think of sliding down from step space for the following causes:

2.Falling

Compared with stepladder, the working area of foothold stand is wide. However, but for wide reason, dangerous points are thinkable.

・As too much focusing on construction work place, it causes mistaken stepping on the top board width, then fall down.

・While holding tools or others with hands, trying to move up or down, then break balance, then fall down.

・Doing force work toward the direction of overturning the foothold stand by pushing, pulling or so, then fall down.

Besides falling from high place itself may be thinkable of awfully dangerous accident as death, even if the falling from person’s waist height may fully cause possible danger, depending on the falling situation. So, carelessness is very dangerous.

The methods to prevent above three points are as follows:

・Well understand the possible work area of sitting or standing on stepladder, do not carry out unsafe action(short-cut action).

・Reviewing the work procedure, tools should be carried in the waist holder. and materials should be handed from other fellow workers.

・Do not work force applied forward and backward on foothold board.

The above or so are thinkable.

In addition, as the following picture, using working stand with「hand hold bar」may be one of the ideas.

You can obtain stability when moving up and down or working with hand hold bar.

Indoor working use foothold stand(safety base)

 

Judging from actual look, indoor work use foothold stand is useful which suites for the work of wide range, such as high place like ceiling or wall. However, because of this reason, the following points are considered to be noticed.

・As too much focusing on construction work place, it may cause misstep, then slide and fall down.

・The danger of overturn by stumbling or so over tools or materials which is placed on foothold.

・Striking head at the area of clipped ceiling or convex place.

・Touching other fellow workers on foothold stand.

Although「touching」may feel a moderate expression, however, if carrying pierce or hard tool in waist bag or so, it may possibly cause wound(scar) . In some cases, the chances are that

it may cause direct falling down.

The methods of preventing above four accidents,

・While checking possible foothold area, do work.

・If placing tools, materials or others on foot area, place them in order neatly.

・Wear helmet or other protective equipments, and check with eyes over the head.

・Agree work area with fellow workers in advance, and do oral check.

Above and others are considered.
