・Rock wool sound absorbing board

It is made of a material called「rock wool」. Its surface has countless opened holes, and it excels in sound absorbing property. However, as it is easy to brickle and broken off, it is not possible to stick it as it is, unlike gypsum board.

So, it is executed as「inconspicuous sticking work method」sticking bedding board on LGS first, then using rock wool sound absorbing board with adhesives and staples on that and sticking staples(a kind of peg) and sticking it. LGS is sticked to bedding, rock wool sound absorbing board is sticked with adhesive and staples (a kind of peg) on that.

(Very rarely, there is a direct sticking type sound absorbing board.)

There is a famous brand product of Solatone and so on.

 

 

 

Besides, more than 10 years ago, a piece of news became well-known on「asbestos」 heat insulating material which may cause pneumonoconiosis・carcinogenicity. Its fiber thickness is different from rock wool by several hundred unit. Rock wool is not easy to enter into human body, and even if it should be breathed in, it seems it is easy to be discharged. So, the two materials may seem to be similar but different at all.

 

As a summary, comparing gypsum board with rock wool sound absorbing board, there are differences of workability, hardness and so on.
